Traci Loudin Author Bio

Traci Loudin Profile PictureI prefer that you use the first person bio. I’m an indie author, and one thing that readers really love about the indie revolution is that they feel like they can reach out and talk to authors, whether in via email or social media. First person removes the feeling that there’s a barrier between author and reader. Truly we are all readers!

If you plan to translate my bio into a different language, please use one of the bottom ones. I’ve simplified the sentence structure, used fewer turns of phrase, clarified that WV is in the USA, removed contractions, and used numerals instead of spelling out numbers to avoid any translation issues. Thank you!

Full First Person Bio (under 300 words)

Growing up in West Virginia, I always looked forward to library trips with my mother and the evenings when my father would read me books like The Time Machine and War of the Worlds by H.G. Wells.

I wrote my first fantasy story at age ten about a boy and a girl who join the monsters that terrorized their small village. At thirteen, I wrote a 55,000-word scifi novel about four kids who were abducted by aliens. To get an extra credit and graduate from school a year early, I drafted a 30,000-word novella with humans, vampires, and elves.

From there, I attained my Bachelor of Arts with dual majors in both Writing and Spanish from the University of Tampa, where I took the Writing Science Fiction course as often as they allowed.

I managed to publish my first novel before turning thirty — The Last of the Ageless: A Post-Apocalyptic Adventure. Now I’m working on an epic fantasy series, The Rifts of Renjian.
