Recently I’ve been doing some soul searching in regards to my writing career. It sort of started with ConCarolinas and all the writing panels there, so this is the third post in my ConCarolinas series. Read the writing panel recap and the author marketing panel recap.
So far, I’ve published one book and planned out a new series. Now it’s time to think about where I want my career to go from here. Everything that’s been percolating in my head recently has finally come together into a new vision.
At ConCarolinas Stuart Jaffe said something that really made the wheels start turning — many writers are unprepared to become full-time authors. They’re especially not ready for the ups and downs.
Listening to the Rocking Self Publishing Podcast also got me thinking. The successful authors who are making it work with a day job all write on the bus or over lunch breaks every day.
